It is with great sadness that Reyes Kenpo announces the passing of Senior Grandmaster Henry Mandac, K.S.D.I. SGM Mandac passed away on Good Friday April 7, 2023 at the age of 83. He lived on Oahu Hawaii his entire life and worked for the Honolulu Police Department as well as for the Honolulu Attorney General. SGM Henry Mandac was a first generation student at Palama Settlement. He was cousin to GGM Aleju Reyes and GGM Sid Asuncion. GGM Aleju Reyes and SGM Mandac trained under Sijo and Joe Emperado when the “Original Knowledge” was completed. He is survived by his two sons, Grandmaster Clyde Mandac and Deane Mandac, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. We had the pleasure of visiting and speaking with SGM on our trips to Oahu over the last couple of years, He and GM Clyde have assured us that the Mandacs will always support Reyes Kenpo. He was a very humble and respectful man. It is said that Sijo instilled these traits in his students, SGM Henry Mandac was the epitome of ‘humble and respectful’. He will be missed.
