Reyes Kenpo Karate CLUB Since 1959
Our story begins in Honolulu, Hawaii in the early 1950’s where our Great Grandmaster Aleju Reyes trained at the famed Palama Settlement Gym under Sijo Adriano D. Emperado, founder of the Kajukenbo system. GGM Aleju Reyes brought his family to California in the late 50s and began teaching classes at Travis AFB. Master Reyes opened our first official school in 1960, RKK’s Suisun City Self Defense Institute. He trained his son Alan M. Reyes along with thousands of students from Travis AFB., Fairfield, Napa, Vacaville and the surrounding area until his passing in 1977. Senior Grandmaster Alan Reyes continued his fathers legacy teaching law enforcement, military, and tens of thousands of students at various RKK locations in the northern California area until his passing in Dec 2019. Grandmaster Ed Zickowski, alongside Sigung Christopher Reyes, continue the Reyes family legacy with locations in California and Tennessee.
