Born in Hawaii on Oct. 10, 1949-2019 SGM Alan M. Reyes was an iconic force in the sharing and protecting the original Kajukenbo Hardstyle, Emperado Method.

Professor Aleju Reyes, along with fellow students Leoning, Ramos, Gaylord, and Halbuna, was instrumental in bringing Kajukenbo to the mainland in the late 1950’s. Reyes started the first training classes at Travis Air Force Base. He later opened schools in Suisun City, Vacaville, and Napa.

Born June 15, 1926 Sijo Adriano Directo Emperado would come to be know as a formidable member of the Black Belt Society, the founder of Kajukenbo and the Kajukenbo Self Defense Institute (K.S.D.I.)
