HISTORY
Professor Ed Zickowski, (aka, GM Z or Sifu Z) started his training in January 1977 under GGM Aleju Reyes until his untimely passing in August 1977. He continued his training under SGM Alan Reyes, son and successor to Reyes Kenpo. SGM Alan Reyes maintained Sijo Emperado’s original knowledge as taught to him by his father GGM Aleju Reyes.
Throughout the years GM Zickowski has been the right hand of SGM Reyes through constant training, instructing, and his involvement in all aspects of RKK operations. “He’s proven his loyalty to RKK, and the legacy of Kajukenbo many times over. I don’t think there has been anyone more loyal and aligned with RKK beliefs” - Sigung Christopher Reyes.
“I’m indebted to SGM Reyes, I trained under him for a lifetime and he set me on my path to who I am today. I will never forget him or his teachings.” - GM Zickowski
In December of 2014 SGM Alan Reyes awarded GM Zickowski the rank of 9th degree and title of Grandmaster. GM Zickowski trained continuously with SGM Alan Reyes until his passing in 2019. Before his passing SGM Reyes named GM Zickowski the successor to the Reyes Kenpo Karate Vacaville school, to which he accepted with the blessing of the Reyes family.
